Heart of Philosophy is a boutique philosophy events company dedicated to creating interesting, informal and fun philosophy events for the public.
Heart of Philosophy aims to create events where you can engage in meaningful conversation with other people who are interested in the big ideas and questions in life.
Our events include regular Philosophy Cafés hosted at various bars in the Melbourne CBD and our Philosophy Lectures and Special Events hosted by professional philosophers.
The focus of these programs is to provide alternative social engagement activities and intellectually stimulating events that engage the public in vibrant and relevant critical discussions.Heart of Philosophy aims to:
- create a space for philosophers and thought-provoking speakers to express their views in a relaxed and friendly environment
- facilitate quality philosophy events, where people can discuss and debate meaningful ideas in an environment of critical inquiry and fun; and
- bring together and nourish the philosophical community in Australia
The Team
The dynamic and talented Heart of Philosophy team has expertise in Philosophical Discourse, Community Engagement, Marketing and Event Management, Digital Strategies, and Research and Project Management. Michelle Irving created the vision for Heart of Philosophy and leads a team of professionals to bring some fabulous events to Melbourne, Australia.
Our Partnerships
Heart of Philosophy works with a number of prominent Australian philosophers and institutes including the Australian Association of Philosophy, Melbourne University Philosophy Department and the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (Australia).
In addition, Heart of Philosophy often works in partnership with cultural and leisure learning institutions including the CAE (Centre for Adult Education), and National Gallery of Victoria Public Programs.
